Welcome!

Welcome to the Buckeye Fencing Club (BFC) Website! The BFC meets at The Ohio State University, in the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC), 337 W. 17th Avenue, Columbus, OH 43210 (see side panel for locations and times).

The mission of the BFC is to enhance and promote elements of good sportsmanship, development of skills, well-being derived from physical activity, and social aspects within the sport of fencing. Above all we strive to have a lot of fun and maintain a tight-knit group. We hope you enjoy your stay with us!

But I've never fenced before!

At one point or another we've all been beginners. At the Buckeye Fencing Club we welcome people of all experience levels; whether you've never fenced before or have been fencing for years. While we do not employ a coach, we are happy to help teach and practices the basics with anyone who shows up. Even people who have been fencing for awhile need to do drills every now and then.

News.

Welcome to another year!

22 September 2009

Welcome everyone, new and old, to the start of another fun-filled year! Note that our first meeting will be taking place this coming Thursday (Sept. 24th) starting at 8:30 pm in B30. This first meeting is going to be more of an informative one rather than instructive and will serve as a basic introduction to fencing. We will be covering the different weapons, discussing rules, and working on basic footwork. For people who have fenced (and/or fenced with the club before), you are more than welcome to come and help us teach.

See you all on Wednesday,

Eric

DEVS VENTI ACERBVS DOMINVS EST

16 January 2008
Hey all, Hopefully everyone's surviving this insane cold front alright; or at the very least getting a workout sprinting from building to building. Just wanted to note a couple things:

First of all, we are now collecting dues for this quarter, which are once again $20. If you could see me sometime during the next couple weeks and turn that in, I'd appreciate it.

Second, we are going to be making an equipment order shortly (you should have received an email regarding this). If you're interested in purchasing something, see Katie and give her a list of what you want (including sizes if applicable), as well as a check for the full amount of your order.

I believe that's it for now, I'll see everyone at the club.

Eric
